Over 1,000 Items Donated

Our Annual Holiday Food Drive has been an opportunity for our members to engage in philanthropy with community members in support of homeless LGBTQ youth. Over the years we have realized that our philanthropic efforts reach far beyond our queer community. In fact, 40 million Americans are food insecure, and 1 in 6 children face hunger each day. Because we know that one box of non-perishable items can provide 25 meals, we believe it is a duty each holiday season to contribute.

In the past, we have worked alongside Omicron Psi Omega, Incorporated to organize a holiday food drive that has benefited the youth of the Pride Center in Philadelphia. This year, we engaged with families across Philadelphia and school communities to collect 1,363 non-perishable items for Home for Hope (PA), Philabundance (PA), and the Youth Empowered Society (MD). This year we were able to triple our donations, thanks to all of the community members who collaborated with us.

What a great way to end 2019! We cannot wait for all of the service programs and philanthropy projects we have in store for 2020.
