The Launch of Don't Let It Break You

Beta Gamma Chi's Riveting Region 1 is redefining how we serve, support, and uplift members of the LGBTQ+ community. Our members have increased philanthropic projects and are facilitating and leading community programming with a specific focus on LGBTQ+ youth homelessness, mental health awareness, and social justice.

On Friday, December 8, Region 1 members will convene in Philadelphia to host in an open mic event centered around mental health awareness. Launching our new Don't Let It Break You program, the event will be facilitated by Malcolm Richardson and Naasir Smith and will feature performances by artists from the Tri-state area. Guest speaker and member, Lance M. Wilson MSS, LSW will also lead discussions around coping with mental illness and access to health care.

On Saturday, December 16, we will continue our Service & Philanthropy program by co-hosting an LGBTQ+ Greek Informational with Omicron Psi Omega, Inc. in Philadelphia. With the support of the COLOURS Organization, we will provide health screenings throughout the day.

Local gay-straight alliances from the University of Pennsylvania, Temple University, and St. Joseph's University will also be present to support Beta Gamma Chi's Annual Holiday Drive. All non-perishable items will be donated to the Valley Youth House to support Philadelphia's Pride Center.

Omicron Psi Omega, Inc. is a Greek organization that prides itself on embracing women who self-identify as aggressive, dominant, or masculine within the LGBTQIA community. This Bruhther-hood is like none other. We believe in our family. We also encourage professionalism, advocacy, and the idea that we can uplift our community by leaning on one another for support, motivation and love.
