On December 1, 2020, our fraternity launched our inaugural World AIDS Day benefit, Code Red with a virtual panel discussion. Leading physicians in HIV-care, advocates, and non-profit leaders explored our topic for the evening: marginalizing the stigma.
The panel discussion was followed by a virtual benefit concert on December 4, 2020 that featured artists from around the country.
This program was designed to spread awareness, celebrate the lives of those living with HIV, and raise funds for HIV & AIDS research. With this program, we are able to not only fortify the pre-existing network of organizations aligned in their causes but contribute a necessary spotlight on the communities that require support for the incredible work they have been doing for many decades.
Our 2020 event partners included North Jersey Community Research Initiative, Rutgers New Jersey Medical School Clinical Research Center, Hudson Pride Center, Blaq365, and Black Nurses Consortium.
Our 2020 program was sponsored by Action Theatre Conservatory, Black, Gay, stuck at home, Mazzoni Center, North Jersey Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., State Farm Companies Foundation, The Fresh Movement, and The Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey.
